How to See About Windows in Vista

Information
  This will show you the version and build number of Vista, registered owner and organization, and how much RAM is available.
NOTE
  The About Windows exe file is located at: C:\Windows\System32\winver.exe

Here's How:
1. Open a Windows Explorer window.
2. Click on Help (on menu bar) and click About Windows. (See screenshot below)

OR

1. Open the Start Menu.
2. In the white line (Start Search) area, type winver and press Enter.

This can also be done by selecting 'run' from your start bar and typing winver

I found a system gathering utility which gives you a bit more details in regards to your build number, at least I think it does.

It's called System Info for Windows:
SIW | System Information for Windows
My 'build lab' info is:
Build Lab 6000.vista_rtm.061101-2205

I'm not sure what if any difference there are or will be with any other systems.

I found that not too many other system gathering tools provide this detailed info, about the build anyways.
