Problems installing updates for Vista x64 Ultimate

Please help! I have had problems installing several updates for Vista x64 Ultimate. I installed kb937287, kb943302, kb943899, kb964041 updates successfully, but when I restart they still appear in Windows Update list. I tried installing .Net 3.5 sp1 update kb951847, but it fails with error code 57.

Also, when Vista loads it gets a blue screen with either 0x0000007E or 0x000000A error codes. It takes several attempts to get Vista loaded. I tried a bunch of fixes, but none of them worked. I tried loading the System Readiness Tool, but I can not locate the file to run it. I tried loading several updates realted to those errors, but I get a mesage saying the they don't apply to my system.

What? How did you that? Manually in cmd.exe without elevating? You have to run this MS Autodiagnostic, click on the picture (attached image) and follow to instructions of this autodiagnostic -nothing more

If you did everythning well and you have this error this means

-you have seriously trouble with permissions in the system
-you lost administrator rights
-you are not administrator and you never been

Are you administrator of this computer or not?

I diagnosed your dump files - you have seriously trouble with your hardware -I'm not good in this field - maybe someone with more experience in hardware help you

Sorry, I did choose do try the fix manually. I just did the autodiag. what now? How do Icheck if it has been reset?

I am the only user on this machine. I should have administator rights.

Can you specify the hardware problems? Is it memory, HDD, or something else? I do have issues with my hard drives. The WD drives have bad sectors. I haven't had a chance to replace them yet. I just want to be sure they are the problem. I don't want to buy new drives and go through the same thing all over again.

You have to diagnose also your motherboard and PSU.First you have to resolve your hardware issue, untill BSODs appear there is no worth to update or installing anything.

Also, I get a blue screen when I open either DVD drive in my system. I have a Lite-On LH-20AL DVD-RW and a LG Blue-Ray/HD DVD-RW GGC-H20L.

You could open up dxdiag, check if BIOS info is listed then flash the BIOS.

Re: Problems installing updates for Vista x64 Ultimate

I downloaded and installed the latest updates from the manufacturer of the motherboard. The Award Bios is v6.00pg. IDK if there is a more current update than that. The power supply is 1000W that came with the case and has only been used with this setup. All the cbles are plugged in properly and working.
