Hello, Today I went on windows update on my Vista and then I saw an update called Sp1. I did not previously have SP1 or 2 so I started updating my PC. After I installed the update, it began to restart my PC. Now when my PC goes to the bootscreen it freezes after 3 seconds and quickly flashes a BSOD and just keeps restarting. I also tried safemode, but when it boots and displays the drivers being loaded it just freezes there and I now I don't know what to do :S? SOMEONE HELP!!!

Well I don't quite understand what your say, but I can't go into safemode.

This is what the BSOD says for Technincal Information:

***STOP: 0x0000008E (0x0000005, 0x83AC453F, 0x80399A15, 0x00000000)

For some reason even though I don't have a vista CD, I have the system restore intergrated into my PC (F8) hardrive and I get an error message when doing start up repair

I used an Live Cd called Ubuntu and have save all my files and have access to my previous drives and files. Any way to repair it from there?

Good whs... but just being picky.. why not download windows stuff from microsoft links??

OK, but he first has to get his system up and running. And a repair disk is his best chance. THEN he can download SP2 and even install it (if he is adventurous- LOL).

Same thing. My link has been tested many, many times. Microsoft put this DVD only together AFTER the Neosmart people ( a very reputable site) had created it from bits and pieces that MS had sprawn all over their site. As I understand it, it is the same.

is your pc booting up now.. your initial problem was that your pc was not starting after updates?? If your pc is not starting yet.. u need to put the windows cd and select repair.. not install windows.. if you install windows you will loss all your data and hava brand new windows.. so better you run the repair.. post back if it works then we will guide you for the service pack..

I tried that CD and it says that the vista is not compatable and I could repair it
First you must know what kind of system architecture do you have -32bit or 64bit.You have to burn *.iso applicable for your system

Too tell you the truth I'm not even sure. All I know is that I bought it in 2007 and never upgraded or anything since. I tried x64 for this one, I'll try the other and tell you guys how it goes

Go to Start, right click on COMPUTER > Properties. There it tells you what OS you have. See picture. And 32bit is X86.
