We recently (5 days ago) HAD to reinstall/reset this computer.
In short, we started experiencing blue screens and other significant problems and then lost the ability to access the internet. It was decided to reset (or what ever it is called) the computer to its original delivery configuration and then reload everything that we added after we purchased the computer.
All went well, we didn't experience any problems with the reload and product keys/codes worked well (even Vista didn't complain when it was upgraded to Ultimate), and we installed Bitdefender Total Security 2012.
We now have an update problem, there are three (3) updates that repeatedly fail. Other Updates have and are working (including Optional), we have tried restarting the computer, updating without any other software running, automatic updates and manually selecting the updates, but no success so far!
The problem Updates are;
Security Update for Windows Vista (KB2378111) Download size: 12,0 MB
Update for Windows Vista (KB970430) Download size: 1,3 MB
Update for Windows Vista (KB972145) Download size: 13,7 MB
P.s. I don't know if this is relevant but Trusted Installer is now consuming over 50% (sometimes 90%) of the cpu.
Pp.s. The Windows Update page "Error(s) found:" message is "Code 8024200D Windows encountered an unknown error".
