Update serious problem

Today i updated my laptop with few updates.Windows restarted and now i cant start my lappy.it show configuring 3 of 3 0% updates.i m in serious problem.windows keeps on restarting.no system restore point.startup repair dint work.i tried to delete all files in software distribution folder by opening xp but thn also it dint work.plz help me.
i don wanna format my lappy i had lot of things in it.:huh:
i also tried opening in safe mode,i tried opening in previous good config.

Tell me what happens when you try to open it in safe mode. Did u renamed the software distribution folder?

it jus show a shutdown screen and thn restart.
plz help yaar..in great trouble.dad`s lappy .he`ll be coming in an hour.plz help.:D

ya i tried renaming soft dis folder tried deleting it allso but it doesnt worked.....
plz help fast.
