Windows Vista Welcome Screen & Network Logon Scripts

Hi Guys , this is what Im trying to get resolved !

1. We are currently rolling out Windows Vista (Business) in my company
2. We have a company logon script , which runs after the user logs onto the pc , and displays current company news , as its maps drives and runs app fixes and some windows updates
3. On our current platform , Windows XP , the users can see this - however with Vista the "welcome screen" sits in there and hids the logon script , so users cannot see the "company news" etc.

Is there a way of removing the welcome screen , or indeed making the welcome screen transparent??? This is a big need for my company , and I need to get it working

I have been able to edit the weclome screen to get it changed to a picture of my choosing.

By the way , this is not the Welcome Center that appears after logon - and enabling/disabling fast user switching or turning off ctrl&alt&del to logon in the policies, as specified by some other forums does not work.

If it's not the welcome center, then I'm not sure what you're talking about. How about a screen shot?

As far as I know, that's not really a window. It's just there until Windows Explorer loads up. It's part of the actual logon screen. Is the script running from the startup (as in, msconfig>startup)? If your script is a window, it should show when the desktop shows, no? What happens after the welcome screen disappears and the desktop shows?

This is a logonscript which maps drive , and is called via a group policy. a number of policies are in place , which make sure that the logon scrip finishs before the explorer starts. This make sense , as you may have changes writing to the registry or environment variables. Some body must be having the same challenge with this ?

I guess that explains it. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with logon scripts. A quick Google search found me this, let me know if it helped (this might also help in some way or another). You sparked my curiosity. I'm going to learn how to write a logon script, it sounds cool. :D:D
