what is file dateinj01.dll?

My Comodo is always asking me about file dateinj01.dll located in C:\users\name\Appdata\local\temp.

Even if I remove/block/approve it, upon restart it's always there (in Comodo list waiting for action to be taken)

Any idea what is it, is it part of some app, or I can remove it?

Theres not a lot of information on this little gem, i would suggest you run a malware program.
Malwarebytes is as good as any and will clean out any and all malware.

I have MB ran, but didn't find any issues, same with SuperAntiSpyware, so I guess it's not malicious, however I don't know to which app (if any) this belong? And why is always in my Comodo list.

Apparently it's an out-of-date windows file from the days of the ol' 386 CPU. That would mean Windows 3.1!

dateinj01.dll MD5:6d2cd253888bedb589d778358e84a1e7 - VirSCAN.org Scanners did not find malware!

However, a virus can be camouflaged as a genuine win file, if it's located in win32 dir. See here:

But you say it's in C:\users\name\Appdata\local\temp, so maybe it's not a virus.

But don't run a malware scanner on it. Run a Virus scanner on it, like Norton antivirus.

ran NOD32, no issues. File properties doesn't say much (if anything) as everything is blank.

Try running CCleaner, maybe it will clear it up since it's in the temp. Plus it will clear most of the garbage on your computer anyway.

installed CCleaner, deleted nearly 1GB, including all my passwords in Fx (funny, not in Opera, only Fx). Deleted many things from that Temp folder, however that $hitty file is still there.

Now, I'm not afraid deleting it (ok I lie, I'm afraid) but would very much like to know what does it do, is it used by some app, and why the hell is always in Comodo list.


EDIT: I have deleted the file, but upon restart it's recreated!

EDIT2: stupid me :eek:, this file was made with RunAsDate app I'm using. Sorry folks!

Weird, if by fx you mean Firefox, maybe you need to change some settings because it doesn't delete my Firefox passwords that I keep for unimportant websites, since it's not secure to have your browser remember all your passwords.

I guess it clears Fx (Firefox) cache, and also passwords and all saved forms. But you can "uncheck" this option inside CCleaner, I used default settings.
