just curious...your not trying to install it on TOP of x32bit I asume? Did you create a separate partition on your HD for x64? If you have backed up your personal files, when you boot from DVD, and get to the partition/drive path screen you can easily delete/reformat/add a partition to the HD. Just delete current partition, format it, and should install just fine. You may need to update your bios as well, but everything looks like it should handle x64 jujst fine.
Also, search the tutorials section here, You'll find lots of useful information.
Hope this helps!

I have been trying to do a fresh install. I did format my drive but I still have no luck.

Is there anywhere I can get recommended bios settings maybe?

This is a shot in the dark but i have seen a lot of people post here in the past with installation problems & have seen our senior members state that sometimes Vista has trouble installing with more than 2gb ram.
As i say this is only what i have read here, they recommend removing excess of 2gb ram and reinsert your extra ram after the install
Hope this is of some help, you may want to run some searches from our browser & see if you can come up with some relevant posts

I did the 2gb and I finally got the 64 bit to install. But I put the rest of my ram back in and I got the blue screen again.

I am going to do all the updates first before I try again, but is there maybe something I am still doing wrong?

Mine is set up in the BIOS to disable excess RAM before install, so that would be accurate. Although I never really knew if it WAS an issue.

After you did the install, did you:
1. Install chipset drivers?
2. Install display drivers?
3. Install audio drivers?
And yes, you can check the MFG website for a bIOS update/flash if needed.
I would install all drivers, updates, and try again.
