product key issues

i have a verry annoying problem with my pc. it wont let me boot up in windows, it keeps asking me for my product key even after typing it in several times. i really dont want to purchase a new one for my pc, when i already have one on my laptop which for some reason refuses to work. so i tried to manually solve the problem by booting up in safe-mode to run system restore.on doing so to my suprise i have no recent restore points listed, and i cant manually create one because it wont let me do so in safe mode. can someone please help.:cry:

Are you trying to use the same product key on both your laptop and PC?

no im just trying to activate windows on my laptop, i havent used the product key anywhere-else, and yet i encounter this invalid product key message, not only that, i cant restore the system to its original factory settings because the restore points are not shown, and it wont let me create one. can anyone help?
