vista password

For some reason I have the log in screen asking for my password, but it will not accept that it is correct,
I know Microsft has a fix it but these are only useful once i'm logged in, but I cannot get passed this stage.

Is there an easy way of getting logged in ........I know my password is correct but this where I'm stuck now.
Any help would be useful.

Hello and welcome, on that log in screen, should be a drop down list of who is logging in. are you using the right user profile ? For example , instead of Administrator, do you have a user profile that the password would normally work ?

Edit : I answered same time as The Howling Wolves. try his first.

Is your password in lower or upper case....?

For one, although it is probably your computer, we don't know that for sure--for all we know it could be stolen.

Two, someone else could come along and use such information maliciously.

I suggest that you take your computer (with proof of ownership) to your local computer shop.

Thank you all for youe advice......but someone thinks I have perhaps stolen this computer.......well I have not
Perhaps it would be best if I did not ask questions on this forum ......and seek answers elsewhere.

Don't go away mad.........When you start out in any forum you should lay the ground work as to number of quality posts and help before asking your type of question.
We need to make sure you are not trying to get into someone else's computer for all the wrong reasons.
