I have a button on the bar on the top of the pdf window whitch allows me to save a pdf. In addition while on a pdf I can click on file > save page as and it will allow me to save it as a pdf. Look at the options.

The answer is that it appears that the PDF is stored on the server, not my HDD.

Well yeah, it is stored on a server but when you open it in your browser it does put a file on your HDD,

Yes, I think I can lay this issue to rest (though I'm still baffled how its done?!) .

Do you not have a pdf download option? Have you not look at my suggestion to look through the options? How about looking for a plugin that helps with pdf downloads?

I'm obviously using the default browser that comes with FF since my (Foxit) PDF reader does not fire up like it once did in previous versions of FF. I'm satisfied that I am somehow remotely viewing the PDF based on the link I previously replied to you with. Like I said, if I wanted to download the PDF I have no problem doing so, I was just wondering where it lived (in my cache or on the server) before doing so.

I believe my Foxit is update (version 7.3.0.118)

Foxit is probably quite popular among those still running Vista, since Adobe Acrobat and Reader was perhaps the first major software to officially end support for Vista. But unofficially, Reader XI is still compatible with Vista. I'm using 11.0.14 right now, but I have not tried the latest Acrobat Reader DC on Vista.

I use Foxit reader because of the adobe reader bloat however I am less thrilled with the later versions. I completely dislike the DC version of Adobe reader. I think that the UI is terrible.

I wasn't aware that Adobe stopped support for Vista; no matter, I dumped Adobe years ago in favor of Foxit and am more than satisfied (just wish I could sign a PDF document when I need to).

I am unhappy with the latest version of Foxit (When I first started it was 2.2Mb download and Adobe was about 22Mb) so I use an older version from here

Likewise, Foxit suits me just fine for browsing PDFs on Vista.
