Unknown keyboard shortcut starts shutdown

Every so often my computer closes all my open programs and then starts shutting down. I get a screen allowing me to "cancel" the shutdown. No screen shows allowing me to decide what to do when shutting down. It just starts shutting down.

I am guessing that I am accidentally hitting a combination of keys on my keyboard.

It just happened again as I was typing this post. Since this happened while typing this it is possible that something is causing this besides hitting a certain combination of keys.

This just started the other day and has happened several times.

Some computers have such key combos built-in. You might look at the function keys and see if any say sleep, shutdown, etc or have any icons indicating such. Have you tried looking in the manual or googling it? Without knowing your computer's make/model it's impossible for us to find out for sure.

It is a laptop or a desktop, because if it is a laptop maybe the lid contact is broken and the system things the lid is closed and shuts down the computer, you can enter the energy settings to disable closed lid shutdown

That goes to show that we need more info however the OP hasn't been on since posting the thread.
