It appears to be something broken on the server end. The contact us is showing the same error. The admins haven't logged in since 2024 or earlier so it seems to be abandoned by them. Even the mod hasn't posted since June. It looks a lot like the vista, 7, etc forums but I can't confirm that it's the same same owners. You might have to look for another forum.

For Windows XP, I would suggest MSFN. There are still a number of XP diehards there, mostly very advanced users who are not always accommodating toward newbies. There has been discussion there that new accounts cannot be created using “temp email” services, so you should be prepared to provide a real email address.

If you have a specific question in mind, feel free to ask it here! I was not an XP diehard (I gave up XP when I bought a Vista PC in 2008), but XP and Vista are in a similar plight when it comes to software support, and I have followed developments at MSFN even though I’m no longer running Vista these days.

Assuming you haven’t been banned by MSFN, my first thought is that you tried to sign up using an obsolete browser. Their forum software is less forgiving of old browsers than the software at this forum. The advanced XP diehards who post there are definitely not using a 10-year-old version of Chrome, much less IE8! Have you tried with your “Classic 7” OS using your most up-to-date browser? Of course major browsers ended support for Windows 7 a few years ago. If you need advice about modern “fringe browsers,” just say so! The situation for XP is about the same as for Vista.

If the MSFN website seemed to work but you never received a confirmation email, then try a different email. Gmail is almost guaranteed to work. No temp emails or Outlook.com emails!

So what old web browser that still works that will allow me to sing up with that website? I have a Gmail account that I use daily for every thing. But I never get a confirmation email. Will take that suggestion on the old browser tho so I can try and create an account. I am also not banned either never been able to make an account.

R3dfox and Supermium are forks of Firefox and Chrome still being updated for 8 and older. Supermium is supposedly compatible with XP but it sounded a bit janky to get it to work.

I'm not finding the sign up option on FF 140 or Opera GX either. Could they have it disabled? Are they picky enough to look for the latest browser?

Someone was able to create an account at MSFN as recently as November 24, 2025, although Rickz has no posts yet. I better post an official link for Supermium Web Browser before someone stumbles across a download containing malware. It does support XP, but might not be satisfactory on extremely old hardware with a single-core processor. (If you have such a system, you should probably forget about using it for web browsing anyway.) I think wither 3 has Supermium 124 (which is not the current version) and some version of R3dfox on his Vista system. If he’s not too busy, perhaps he could try to create an account at MSFN? My MSFN account is about 9 years old and I’m no longer an active member there.

If you have a question about XP, you could try asking us here.

I'm thinking that they disabled registration or made it just about impossible to find the link. :sarc: No recent registrations is a big hint. I can't confirm though since I didn't see any posts on it.

MSFN’s forum software does seem to be fouled up now. Try clicking “Reply to this topic” at the top of a thread page and see if it gives you an option to sign up. I have signed in that way before. Another issue: They have threads with replies but “0 views.” 🤔
