Inspiron 531s low profile video card

That is the on I've been looking at for a while. I also need a 400W power supply. Can anyone recommend a good 400w power supply that will fit? And if better low profile video card?

Well I am definitely getting that card, I know it fits. But I am not sure of the dimensions of the power supply I need, it has to be a minimum of 400W.

well your best bet is a corsair or ultra (ultra is cheaper per watts, corsair better brand but less watts for your money) heres a 650 ultra and a 750 cosair

there are others but your PSU should be a standard size
but i'm not sure of that you might need to measure it and compare dimensions with these two and see if they are the same

None of those will fit in his case. Here is what his current power supply looks like,

which is a SFX form, a standard ATX power supply will never fit. At the moment the largest SFX size I can find is this 350W Seasonic,

ok i was looking at the atx 531 not the 531s
if its sfx though you can't use but so many watts with the computer
have you used the watts configuration thing on here? i forget exactly where its at....

Okay, so I need a slim power supply as well. Well, I'll look around. And is it true if I unplug my Hard Drive from the power supply all the storage will be lost?

idt you can even use more than 200 watts with your computer
i have a 250 watt in mine and i have two hard drives two pci cards a pci express graphics card and a dual amd and i still havn't used all of mine yet...... but i do need a new one......

There is a very large difference in the power draw between your HD 3450 and the 9600 GT Vista_32bit is looking at. Here's a couple of reviews showing the power consumption of the two,

the HD 3450 at full load is only 3W more than the 9600 GT at idle. Somehow I don't think that 250W power supply of his is up to the task.
