Problem with GTX 285

Is there a way in Vista to change the memory clock of my GTX 285? The stock speed is supposed to be 2500 MHz but GPU-Z displays it as only 1250 MHz. If I cannot change this in Vista could somebody recommend a simple program to use to set my clock to the correct setting?

You are already running on the 2500Mhz GPU-Z states the value correctly, which has to be multiplied by 2 = your actual value This is caused by the architecture of the memory. The same goes for a good ol' FSB (in "older" than i7 systems), but in that case to have an actual value we would multiply it by 4 No need to change anything, unless you want to play with OC

Thank you for your information. I guess I'll have to 3D Mark the system to compare. I'm getting considerably lower FPS than a friend who has a near identical computer but a different branded VGA.

I'll tell you why. his different branded VGA might be overclocked, his PC might be more optimized than yours, and the drivers may be different, every single driver release for the GTX GPU's change the way your scores on things like 3DMark score.

This is by far the best program to Monitor, and overclock a graphics card I've ever used, but be careful when doing it.

This program I have set to run automatically with my PC. it sets the fan speed from 40% to 55% everytime I turn on the PC, it also monitors the temps of the graphics card. and even better. you can overclock it and get a solid 1000 or more point increase in things like 3DMark06 and Vantage.

I always say this. Say you have the eVGA GTX 285

go to a site like newegg.com and look it up. and then use the eVGA Precision program to overclock your card to some of the Pre overclocked cards your specific brand sells. like the GTX 285 SC edition and SSC. and even the FTW. you could probably set it for something in the middle of SSC, and FTW. and go with like 700 Mhz On the Core. and so on.. make sense. check out the speeds of these ones core clocks and memory

I'd say set it for 720/1500/2560 (well in precision ram would show up as half of 2560. so somewhere in the 1200 range.. lol I don't wanna do the math.
