Access denied when trying to open a cbs log

I ran the SFC and when finished, I tried to open the resulting CBS.log. However, it says Access Denied. In it's security permissions, I have full control.

What is the solution?

Solved - Why am I denied access to CBS.log file- fixing corruption?

I fixed corrupt files with the help of Brink's brilliant tutorial: 'How to use DISM to fix Component, etc, etc.......... I then wanted to see what they were in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. I got as far as CBS.log, but Notepad opened & stated that I was denied access. Why? I am the Administrator...

Thanks townsbg- It worked.

I can run SFC til the cows come home and it will always find corrupt files. Don't see anything in the log and it just ends without a summary. As you know I used the installation ISO from Ex_brit to install Vista on two hard drives and SFC finds nothing on one and always something on the other. Probably fodder for a new thread.

I wonder if the installs are messing with each other. If you have separate drives you might want to install them separately (without the other hard drive installed) and use a device to power only the hard drive that you need. Did you run the command in the first link?

Yesterday, I started a new thread on the corrupt files issue. That's probably where we should handle it but-

Note that when ever I run sfc /scannow, I always first change the directory to C:\. I assume that will prevent it from looking at another drive/partition. The other drive can be disabled by simply unplugging it (it's a dual boot on the same mobo).
