Solved Adding a Range Extender

Hey Guys,

Hey I have been looking into a Range Extender for my Router because my Vista Machine and Windows 7 Desktop both receive Poor Signal at the End of the House and was wondering how and what Hardware I need to Install a Range Extender

Our Router is a Belkin I will give you the Full Details Later today

Also Another Question what Range Extenders are compatible

Are you sure you want an extender? They can cost a fair bit of money, so I'll give you the free alternatives first:

^^It's really helpful and I have followed the steps that I haven't already done and I can see the speed differences already

^^Try putting some foil at the back of the router (between the router and the wall). This will reflect any signals that go that way - I'm assuming you don't have laptops in the walls

^^ A friend of mine does this, and he seems to like it but it does cost $100 (here's the ebay results: airport express items - Get great deals on Computing, Consumer Electronics items on eBay UK!)

My speeds take me 78 seconds per mb when it is going fast. That is not funny!

I've Never Really used Firefox before I couldn't understand what the Fuss is about would you say it is a Good Browser?

I did use Chrome but that Got Messed up so Now I am Using Safari only because of the Browser Extensions

Firefox has the biggest range of any browser in the world. I originally used it because it had add-ons that appeared on no other browser, and I needed, but now I am just hooked.

I have a whole load, but the main ones are:

A dictionary for Firefox's build in Spell Check (build in Spell Check, Dictionary in your own language free add-on) Malware Search, and CEOP Toolbar. These are the ones I use regularly, but I have loads (things like Flash, Java, Silverlight, .net Framework assistants, Download Managers, Personnas, VTZilla etc.)

I sucessfuly added a Range Extender We found an Old Router lying around also I couldn't do that Foil thing becuase my Router doesn't have any Antennas Instead it has 2 Wireless cards

1 for the Internet

and the other for transferring Media from our Home Network
