First time poster I hope someone has a suggestion for me. Long story short:

I have Vista Home Premium 32 bit
I am not a very technical person
I have had my compaq computer for about 4 years
I never created any additional accounts on the computer
I bought and MP3 player from Walmart on Black Friday and I am trying to set it up
I get a message telling me I need to put in my administrator passoword to set up my MP3 player
I do not recall ever setting one , and have tried any password I may have set, but nothing works. I don't know what to do, this has never come up before. is there a default if i never set one? Thank you everyone for time and assistance

There wouldn't be a default password. It's one you would have set up at the time of setting the PC up.
However, I do not know whether this will work but .... try and create a new User Account and see if this will allow you to set up the mp3.

You can set up a new user under Control Panel, User Accounts.

Let me know how you get on.

Tried what you suggested, same result. How do I find out my password that I feel like I never set? Or reset it?
