Asus live update stopped working

I have an Asus Z53E series laptop. I never had this problem before, & suddenly I started to get this message around two months ago: "Asus live update stopped working", then internet explorer closes. The fault module name is: "kernel32.dll"
I don`t understand what`s changed for the live update to stop working, the only downloads done on the last couple of months have been mostly automatic windows updates, & other general updates like adobe.

I have realized recently that "Asus live update" seems to close when I try to upload pictures from my computer to facebook. It seems to go crazy when I attempt any sort of Internet uploading. What I`ve been doing is exiting the Live update when the messagge window pops up, & that seems to be working, for the time being. But the problem is still there.
Somebody said in a forum that "Asus live update" is useless, & that it should be removed from the programs cos it has no use & it malfunctions a lot. I think this is a bit drastic; is it really totally useless?
Can anyone help with this matter? It`s frustrating
Thanks!

I am a firm believer in trying to get the most out of any tool that comes with your computer. Some are nice to have others, I could live with out.

BUT..... In your case I did a google search for "Asus live update" and the first three listings were rants. I clicked one site thinking there would be mixed reviews, nope. Not one person had even one thing positive to say about the program. I say llok for any update and see if it helps. If not, get it off your computer before it blows it up.

Resource Hog, Wacks Out, Laptop Gets Real Hot When Running, Has Never Worked Right In All It's Years.

These usually are not words used in positive reveiws of programs. And on eery site I seen the same words over and over and over and over lol. The name makes it sound like it could be good.

I`m not sure how to do this, could you please explain it to me? I have never got drivers myself. Do I need to download them from Asus Website?

Thanks EVERYONE for your help :) so it seems I should definitely get rid of it. To be honest, I`ve never seen it doing anything either, I heard before that it was pretty useless, but I needed to make sure of this, & considering all your answers, it`s true!!
