Blue Screen on Vista x64 install

Hey, everyone I'm new here and need your help. I'm currently running my upgraded rig on Vista Ultimate 32 bit and would like to have 64 bit installed because I have 6 gigs of ram that I would like to be able to use. My problem is that when I boot from my DVD drive, it says it loads the windows files, but then when its like setting up the install or something (The green bar is scrolling across the screen), it gets hung up then, after a minute or two, becomes a BSOD. 32 bit did something similar, but never gave me blue screen just kept stopping and starting again. I'm stumped. Please, any help would be much appreciated.

Vista 64 doesn't like to be installed with more than 2GB of ram so install with only 2GB of ram then after the installation is done insert the rest of your ram.

yeah i got it to work after a bit of swapping sticks out and trying different vista discs. Thanks for the quick reply. Now it wont boot with more than 1 stick in when they are both 2 gig sticks. Isn't there a fix for this? if so, where might i find it?

I have this same issue with a box I was working on, vista run's with only 2gb but if I try to use any more than that it gets to the load screen with the green bar and then goes to a blue screen. This has 4 1GB sticks, works with 2 not with 4.

I finally realized SP1 had never been installed, took care of this and everything runs great with 4GB Ram installed. So I would recommend this as a possible solution.
