Boot Issue's

For some rerason with this new Nvidia PC I have build 3 moths ago has been having more problems than my 4 year old laptop. This kind of stuff is my luck. Im known for buying things that JUST DONT WORK. Witch makes me very thankful for this site. At first this Pc worked great then I started getting the blue screen of death every now and then. Blue sceens are hard enough to figure out seeing how it could be a number of things. Overclocked to high, Voltages set off a bit blah blah blah. But then one day my computer shuts down unexpectedly and it goes to boot then restarts again then asked me if I wanted to start it safe mode and a bunch of other options. None of the options worked. It just kept restarting. I went into bios made sure first and second boot device was hard drive and Cd Rom. Was good. Then it gets weirder. I pull out the removable flash drive maybe thats what was causing this you never know? WOW it worked!!!! So I start running some scans and stuff and BAM!!! I get the Blue screen of death........ So I fire it back up and then it goes back to just restarting over and over again. So I tried puttting the windows 7 disk in to try repairing and the disk starts to load and I keep getting blue screen half way though the loading. So I leave it for a day and come back and it works again.... until the next time it shutsdown anyway. Sounds weird but maybe someone has had this happen before????

Hello David3,
Do you have anything overclocked ?, if you do set it back to default.
Go to C > Windows > Minidump, zip up the dump files and upload them with your next post. You may need to save them to your desktop first.

When you upload them we will take a look and see if there is any more information in them and try to get this sorted for you.

uplooad the minidump files so we can analyze it....

chk the c:\windows\minidump folder and upload to us all the files that you see there (or at least the latest one)

if there is nothing there, enable minidump: Enabling Minidump - Tech Support Forum

and check that folder after the bsod happens

if all the above is too hard for you to do or in any way shape/form you cannot folllow the steps above,

view the stop code of the bsod and post it in your next posting.

dmp 041810-10: DEFAULT_BUCKET_ID: vista driver fault
KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M: http://www.carrona.org/bsodindx.html#0x1000008E
faulty driver: classpnp.sys
system.exe

driver classpnp.sys caused the problem. i was reading up on google about this driver and it may have to do something with your disk drives.

if you can, go into your CMOS setup, then make sure that PnP OS is checked. If this doesnt work, then try to disable write caching on your drives. credit: PC hardware - Hard drive issues - What exactly is classpnp.sys?? and classpnp.sys bluescreen - dslreports.com

i doubt that the pnp os thing will work as the minidump didnt say anything about irql not less or equal

try running the sfc /scannow command in the elevated comman prompt while in safe mode.
and try also to reinstall that driver and see if it works. try also to run a chkdsk and a memtest.

if you want, you can also try this: A "Stop C2" Error Is Caused by the Classpnp.sys Driver

dmp 041910-10: Vista driver fault

PFN_LIST_CORRUPT: http://www.carrona.org/bsodindx.html#0x0000004E

Faulty driver: dxgkrnl.sys (microsoft directX graphics kernel)
dwm.exe
for this one, try updating your windows vista to sp2, if any system component is overclocked set it back to normal. update your directx, again, try memtest to see if your ram is at fault.

make sure that your nvidia drivers are up to date. move the ram around in the different ram slots (if ram 1 is in slot 1, and ram 2 is in slot 2, then move ram 1 in slot 2 and ram 2 in slot 1). go to run and type in dxdiag, and it tells you wat dx ver you have (just in case you dont know, so you can update).

dmp 042710-02: vista driver fault
BAD_POOL_HEADER: http://www.carrona.org/bsodindx.html#0x00000019
netio.sys
svchost.exe

try to update this driver,

Im not too sure about this particular one, as there are many hotfixes for this driver.

Here they are, use the hotfix that has the symptom that is most related to your problem: Error message when you start a multiprocessor computer that runs Windows Vista: "STOP: 0x0000007E"
After you configure Internet Connection Sharing in Windows Vista, the network connection stops working after one-to-two hours
also read this article on netio: NETIO SYS Gives You a Blue Screen in Vista? Here is How You Fix It

sorry if some of these dont work, or if this post is too messy, im a beginner when it comes to bsod's

So far iv followed all the steps theoj has listed and none of the diagnostics will run. Dunno why. Very confusing, the memory test should start after boot, and go to a blue screen with the diagnostics tool. but it don't. The Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities (Storage) - TACKtech Corp.
Says "There is no hard drive detected on this computer" HAHAHA funny because im using it right now!!!!! So next I will try Katokato's steps and stoney nutz.

was reading some other threads in this forum under Stop 0x0000001a MEMORY_MANAGEMENT BSOD. Seems like Im not the only one with this problem. Im thinking its bad ram Im goint to try swaping out the ram and trying different slots.

So after running tests and following some steps I was listed I found out it was indeed the ram. Just 1 of the 2 sticks of ram crapped out. The reason I could not have determined this earlier is because the first time I tried swapping out the ram I was having boot issue's and changing ram did not change anything. It seems the BSOD Was caused my memory. Why the computer would not boot until I did a system restore is beyonde me. Thxx for all the input everyone=).. ..and remember......TRIAL AND ERROR!!!!!!
