Solved Boot Up Time

Since my infection I got 42496 seconds I did have ir down to 105 once
Is there a regi9stry setting to speed the boot time? If so where to find it..
It hangs waiting for the desktop to load and I am thinking the registry was changed due to the malware infection I had.

The best way to fix registry. If you have a system restore DEFINATELY BEFORE THE INFECTION make a system restore.

OK I my net was slow too, so I remembered the link that tunes thetcip dettings and now the net works great..Just the loading of my desktop needs work... I will see if there is a restore point.

I looked and I got one for my D drive and PQSERVICE whatever that is...

You need one for the drive that the OS is installed, usually C:

Hi, Have you tried using soluto (beta). with your permission it denys or delays startup programs which are not important. Plus it is easy to use! google it. Im sure its free. It also has a crash solution table as well so if anything crashes you might get a solution.

I use it and i only see the windows xp boot screen for 3 seconds- 45 seconds boot time total.

OK I managed to knock it down quite a bit like 7 to 8 min so far, the quickest was like a little over 2 min

I still have the desktop background color screen after the welcome screen and before the desktop loadup, that is what I want to get rid of, or at least minimise as much as possible... I had 59 processes(I cant psell htat wrdo) LOL...I cant spell that word.... to only 50 so far....

Dang this carpel tunnel, it is annoying, I need a brace for my left wrist....

I was wondering if there was a way to eliminate the user screen when you log in, I am the only one on my computer and no point having it there you know....

K I done it and Hope it works

Now The screen I get that is after the welcome screen I think is called the flash screen so someone told me and they said it can be turned off in bios... Do You Know How??? I will look at the version and get back to you..

There is a black screen that is there for about 2 seconds and it is the computer looking for any other monitors

If you use your computer daily you might consider putting it to sleep and not turning it off. A reboot is needed at some point though but can be days between.

Ok I done the login automatically thing and Goofed, at the same time I had done a system restore instead of just a restore point...I accidently deleted my Admin Account....I finally got it backafter intense research on google and frustrating trying to get on here...Losing my password fewtimes(wouldnt let me logon). I ended Up going safe mode and then system restore to the one before... I got my admin back, but I still have the windows flash screen loading over 2 min... Someone told me to disable the flash screen was to go into BIOS and change the setting, but I looked in BIOS and couldnt see anything about flash screen..Heck of alot better than almost ten. I had cut my services and startup down from 59 to 50 using soluto beta. Since it is beta, alot of items were labeled unsure and couldnt access them to change startup type.

I was hoping there was a better and free program to clear out the startup and services. Ok I know I wrote alot here but I wanted to give as much detail as possible..
