BSOD while playing CS 1.6

Hi. I have had my computer for just over a year now. Im Running a AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6400+ 3.20 GHz, 3.50 GB Ram, Nvidia Ge-Force 9600GT Graphics, 32-bit OS Vista Home Premium.

Ive been playing Counter Strike 1.6 and Counter Strike Source all that time and never had any problems. and just a couple of months ago i started getting Blue Screened. Don't know why but it only blue screens when i play counter strike. And also, my pc is starting to heat up really quickly really fast, i have no idea why? Please Help anyone???

can you go into c:\windows\minidump, zip the dump file (*.dmp) and upload it to us for debugging.

Let us know if you need any help with this

Please update the drivers listed below. If they don't solve the problem, then we'll have to look at bit deeper with either hardware diagnostics or Driver Verifier.

pcouffin.sys is most likely part of a burning application.

nvmfdx32.sys is a NVIDIA MCP networking driver that should be located in the C:\windows\system32\drivers directory

RTKVHDA.sys is part of the Realtek Audio drivers.

If you haven't already, update your audio and video drivers.

OK. do i just update them in the device management?

You can either see if there are any newer versions through Windows Update or use device manager.

However it's usually it's best to grab them from the manufacturers.

Ok so i went to update them and it just kept saying that the most current or best drivers have already been installed or updated. but just recently i have been bsod'd twice? and my power supply is overheating to fast? but ive just got it installed and its brand new?

I'd say its your hardware. Open up the case and make sure all case fans are connected properly, the cpu heatsink is connected properly, and the gpu fans are spinning. Consider adding more case fans too. What case do you have?

Also, is your PSU an OEM model or a cheap one? It might be dying and I wouldn't be too surprised if that were the case. You should always buy a reputable PSU with APFC, low ripple + noise, and a well designed unit in terms of rails, among other things.

um...its a custom built comp so i dont know what model the case is...when i get blue screened it says hardware for the problem so....yeah. but i am getting another fan for my comp but might get a new case...any recommendations for cases?

that pcouffin file...do you reckon that it is causing the blue screens? because as you said it is part of a burning program right? well i cant burn dvds or cds now? how can i download the file and how do I replace or install it into the right folder without screwing up my computer?
