Call of Duty 4 on Vista x64 help!

Well, I guess I spoke too soon... I laoded CoD4 a few days ago, it ran excellent, no problems and looked great, tried to run it just now and when I start it up, the initial splash screen comes up, I chose single player, and thats it, the screen dissappears and the optical drive stops reading.....I tried again using the multiplayer icon, and got these two error messeges.. anybody got a clue? Drivers 177.92

Just reinstalled.. so far its playing fine in single player.. but it did that last time too.. Gonna try it again with Fraps.. on board sound an issue?

I had the same problem with cod4, would load single player but not but not multi player, took forever to figure it out but I went through all the recently installed programs to see what might be the issue.

Turned out that it was a recent Realtek sound driver I installed went back to the original and everything was good again. Since then I have updated again to 6.0.1.5683 driver and is still working ok.

Also I have had to install more then once to get things working properly, as with some multi player levels it would stop working while loading levels. Also had the same problem every time I patched the game, I downloaded and installed the 1.6 patch 3 times before getting it work properly on all the new levels.

Don't know why I am having so many issues with the game, but it is working good for me now, hope you can sort it out, it must suck not being able to play such a great game!

so far its running ok...but6 it did that last time too.. ran for a week, then gave me a fit... I just got home from work so I am going to try both...single and multi.. same for Quake4, then I am going to try to get Riva tuner working.. then try them again.. keep you all posted.

PS.. I did the " control panel>sound>recording>rightclick>show disabled devices>enabled the disabled stereo mix not sure if that helped or not..we'll see.
