Can't Access "Default User" folder in Users Folder

Yrea...sorry for forgetting to mention I'm using 7, and tahnks for clarifying what the text file was for.

Yeah dude, I should probably just forget about the new user thing but it's going to haunt me haha...and I heard re-building the system from scratch often makes it run a little smoother and faster...

By the way, I'm back with another concern, people.

The "Default User" junction IS supposed to be a system protected file, right? Meaning, in it's properties, it would have the option to hide it dimmed out? With the check mark already on it, indicating it will always be hidden and you cannot change that?

Because on my Windows 7, this option for the "Default User" junction (which appears like a folder by the way) is not dimmed out, and I am able to check it.

However, this doesn't exactly hide it...for some reason.

I was wondering if anyone here knew a way to hide this thing. Anyone, please?

My Computer

Yes, it should be hidden. I know nothing about Windows 7, but not being hidden will not cause any problems by itself, so my advice is to just leave it alone ;)

I have that set to be hidden, AND protected system files hidden...yet this thing is still showing.

Was told by Brink (admin of this site and seven forums) to do a repair install, which is my only bet. Don't really feel like breaking the seal of my Windows 7 CD as I considered selling it on Amazon...so I'll just go with how Dell did the factory restore, since by the way, guys...this is the "factory restore" state of the laptop.

I was wondering..can I do a repair install from my computer? Or do I need to use the Windows 7 Cd/Dvd?

Sure, I did mess around with this junction and it destroyed my ability to make new user accounts...and after a factory restore, the problem was gone...just that the Default User junction folder still appeared to me, despite me checking those two boxes.

I will live with it though, not a problem. Who likes going into the Users folder anyway...thanks lol.
