Solved Can't find scan disk log

I ran scan disk tonight. Now I want to find the log and when I used the finder to find Wininit it takes me clear back to a scan disk log I ran in 8/2015. Why do I not find the scan I did just tonight? I also clicked clear through that very long list for today looking for it manually. It's not there.

Follow the instructions in this tutorial.
If that does not work, run the scan again and follow the tutorial, again.

Didn't work. This time it found a record from Sept. of 2015 and another back in June. But the two I just ran do not show up. I ran one last night and again in the wee hours this morning.

I brouht up the Command Prompt/run as administrator and typed in check chkdsk C: /f /r and since the disk is in use it tells me it will perform this the next time the computer is restarted. I'm not going to do that for a bit but will let you know.

First one it picked up was the Sept. 2015 scan. Does this mean the scan isn't actually running? I would swear that my computer is running better but I can not find a log since those in 2015 and prior.

Not being able to actually try and find the results myself, I have to assume that thy are not being recorded. I can only think that the hard drive has so much corruption that the chkdsk results are not being recorded.
Hopefully, I will be proven wrong, if another member knows of a better method to perform a chkdsk that will work more satisfactorily.

I ran another Scan Disk tonight. This time when I did a search for the log, the ones I ran several days ago appeared under the date of Feb. 7 and it looks like all 3 of those previous scans are under that same Feb. 7 item. I scrolled through one and then it started all over again and again a 3rd time.

However, there is no record of the scan I started the evening of Feb. 8 and which finished in the wee hours of today, Feb. 9.

Just thought I'd let you know. Crazy!

Administrative tools - Event viewer - Windows logs - Application - Click on 'source' at the middle top to sort by ascending/ descending order. Locate 'wininit' and click on it to view.

OK, now how can I get things back the way they were, with the most recent items on top?

Go to event viewer. Click on applications, then click on the top the column that shows date and time. It will rearrange the way you want.

Got it. Actually, it was already back the normal when I opened it. I must have gotten impatient and not waited long enough. Thanks!
