Solved Can't Turn On Public Folder Sharing

Hello,

I'm using Home Premium x64. I can see my XP machines on my home network and access their public folders; however, they can see my Vista machine but not the public folders (the window is blank).

When I try to turn on Public Folder Sharing in Vista I receive an "Unspecified error" box. Network Discovery and File Sharing are ON.

Any ideas?

I also noticed that I don't have the "Share..." option when I right-click a folder in Explorer. The place where it's supposed to be is blank.

Anyone know what's going on?

I've done a lot of googling and no one else seems to have this problem.

If you are getting unspecified errors look in your error logs to se if there are any other errors that can point you in the right direction.

You get there by going into start, right click on my computer and choose manage.
Also look in your reliability and performance logs.

Check your services to enure the correct ones for sharing are turned on.

Thank you very much for your help.

A clean install fixed the problem (my original installation was on top of XP).
