Okay, I'll be completely honest here. I have little to no knowledge of computers, but I happen to really like having mine functional. It's been messing up for a few weeks ever since I made a really stupid decision about downloading something I shouldn't have. We worked on it for about three hours last night, and finally got three Trojans and a tracking cookie off... And everything is great, except for one thing.
There's certain pages - MySpace, Gmail (I had to get on my mom's computer to activate my account for this site), etc, that just WON'T LOAD. They'll load for two minutes or six hours, and the screen is the same - the white screen that usually only shows up for about three seconds. I've gotten my stepdad to look at it, and he helped to get it working again, other than the sites that stubbornly refuse to load. I asked for help on a tech support forum on LiveJournal, and that didn't really help.
So I'm hoping someone here can XD Seriously. If you can help me with this, I'll worship the ground you walk on or something.
Edit: I'm also sure that it's not the connection. My mom's computer works just fine, loading every single page she wants to look at. So does my dad's, on the completely separate network from my mom's. It's mine that's being stupid.
