How do I change a User name? When my system was set up the person put in a name that I don't go by. Would like to change it.
Thank you.

re: Change "User" name
Hello Skootch,
You can change just your user name for how it displays in Vista as OverMyHead described, but you cannot change the name of your C:\Users\(user-name) folder though. The only way to do this is to create a new administrator account with the name you wanted, then delete the old account from within the new one.
Hope this helps,
Shawn

re: Change "User" name
It's not quite the same thing though.
Once you have
created the new administrator account, copy the contents of the old account's
C:\Users\(user-name) folders into the corresponding new account's
C:\Users\(user-name) folders to keep you old account settings. Afterward everything checks out ok in the new account, you can
delete the old account from within the new account.
You will then have an account with the name you want, and have the
C:\Users\(user-name) folder with the same name.
