Chat Room in Vista Forums Quick Links - What is it?

What bad, bad,habit?

In the Quick Links above, a left click produces a drop-down menu, with the sub-heading Quick Links repeated. The sub-heading lists as on option...Chat Room.

A left click on Chat Room opens up a new window, with a smart looking panel that tells me that I have entered the "Lounge" of the Chat Room.

So? where to from there? Are there any instructions, or a Tutorial in the Forum that will guide me through what to do next?

I have searched through FAQ and done a Search for 'Chat Room' within the Forum, and come up empty handed.

What is the Chat Room, and what gives?:confused:

Tell me! Or I'll send in a Battalion of Sepoys.....and they've all been chewing garlic and ginger for a week!!

The chat room is a feature of the forums, (I think its a default for the software used to manage the Forums), As has been stated by others "if you type in "hello" and you get a reply, It's an Echo". Basically it allows members to chat to each other in a live situation as with the various instant messenger programs, MSN etc. At the moment it's something that has not taken off with the members here. I could see a use for it if you wanted to chat with someone while solving a problem (or just to chat :D ) but I think you would have to arrange to meet someone in there to get any benifit

Greetings.

The Sepoys had breeched the defences and occupied the Lounge until the aroma of garlic and other expelled gases, forced their rapid withdrawal for fear of asphyxiation.

The 'unused' Lounge is now declared a contaminated and toxic site, for a half life of five years.

The paint peeled off the walls and ceiling.....interesting.....stainless-steel and mirrors?

You may weld the doors shut.
