I can play for awhile or a short time and the game shuts down. This is the info I get when the problem happens:

Have gotten new udated drivers, I have a NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS, AMD Athlon 64 X2
duel core, available virtual memory 1.24GB.

I could use some help.

From the amount of persons viewing and then not able to give a suggestion to fix the problem, I would guess that I am "out of luck" concerning playing this game on Vista.

Hammertime,
I had the same problems. I found that if I put the 2 nd disk in the drive and then start the program I have to let it run through all the preliminary movie where the guy is in a cabin and the tank goes by etc etc and let all the prelim stuff play out without jumping ahead by hitting the enter key to speed things along.
The game now plays well. I think that other necessary stuff has to load up in the interim.
I also run the game in XP compatibility. (Right click on the icon and go to properties and change compatibility to XP)
Hope this helps. It's not much but it works for me.

Thanks Jimbo, I will try your suggestion. I just recieved a e-mail from Microsoft that said: "We regret to inform you that CFS3 is no longer covered under our "help guidlines, because it is a older game. Our resources are given to newer products. sorry." I bet it is with Vista problems. Thanks again for the advice.

Yet Microsoft has not replaced CFS3 with CFS4 yet. Too bad. I liked that game.

Anyway, I am running FalconAF on Vista64 with no problems, as well as FS9.

You may want to check at Frugalsworld.com (a site dedicated to flight simulators). You will probably get more responses there as there are likely more people with there running CFS3 with Vista than there are here.

Well, I tried it out and no luck. The game stopped right away, at the mission screen. Same error message as before. Thanks for the suggestion.

You might want to try running CFS3 in compatibility mode for Xp (service Pack 2) or 2000. This solved my problem although the menus are located weird.
You can do this by:
1. Right-click the program icon
2. click on properties
3. choose the compatibility tab
4. check the "run this program in compatibility for:"
5. Chose XP or 2000

This should stop CFS3 from crashing

P.S. remember to always use the icon that you changed

Try the Avsim and Flightsim those sites have a lot of traffic user wise, so if there is a fix, there is a good chance you will get it there. Also try Com Central they have a dedicated War bird community there
