computer reboots itself

I have an HP Pavillion DV6000 laptop with Vista Home Premium 32. I recently had to reformat the hard drive using a recovery disc that HP sent to me. Now that I have installed vista, the computer will just reboot itself repeatedly. I have already turned off the prompt in the system restore area. I cant even keep the computer running long enough to do any windows updates. It does not give me any error messages either, it just shuts down and restarts. Your help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you
