Copy of Windows is not Genuine

I've had this message come up and Vista prompts me to enter Win key and i have a few times but it still says the same thing.

Windows Vista (TM)
Build 6002
This Copy of Windows is not genuine.

This is pretty annoying and would like to get it off. i've tried to enter this command "slmgr –rearm" in Command Prompt but it work for a bit then it came back.

There is a way around this but unfortunately it is against forum rules to show you how.

I recently had to active a copy of 2008 r2. Server activation failed but I found a command to force the phone activation screen. From there you call a number, provide the activation ID, and get an activation code. I know that the application is there in vista but I don't know if the parameter will work because I don't want to screw up my current virtual machine. You can try it. If you can get the phone activation screen and you have a legit code then you may be able to activate it. Phone Activation of Windows 7 & 2008 R2 Solved - Windows 7 Help Forums

If needed tomorrow I might be able to create a test virtual machine with vista on it to test.

My method is official if it works.
I'll go ahead and try this over the weekend since my schedule is hectic. Thanks. I'll be posting the update soon. BTW, i've had a few times where i had to activate Vista but the activation screen wouldn't stay open for too long and it would just close by itself and proceed to home screen. there was also a time where i had to do the phone activation but after a while the same issue came back with the not genuine copy message. I swapped out the bios battery and it hasn't had any issues after the last activation post bios battery swap. Does this mean that if the bios battery is unplugged it will be asking for the activation key or am i talking nonsense?

If needed tomorrow I might be able to create a test virtual machine with vista on it to test.

I finally found some time to install a test Vista VM and confirmed that the command does open up the phone activation. I haven't tested it though.
