Solved Crysis freezing...

Hi,

I bought the Crysis bundle: Crysis, Crysis Warhead and Crysis Wars.

Installation went fine for all discs and my computer meets all the requirements to run the game.

Loading the original Crysis everything runs fine except that the game freezes for 5-10 seconds frequently.

It freezes on the Main Menu for 5-10 secs, In Game: 5 secs and the Cutscenes: 15 secs.

All framerates are over 50 but it still freezes randomly as if something is loading.

My specs are:

AMD Athlon II X2 255 3.1GHz @ 3.8GHz (For game: 2.8Ghz or higher)
4GB DDR3 1333 @ 1666MHz (For game: 1.5GB, Vista)
AMD Radeon HD 6450 1GB 645/800 @ 851/1040 (For game: X1300 or higher)
Liteon 24x DVD-R/RW CD-R/RW (For game: 8x)
Seagate Barracuda 320GB 7200.02RPM SATA II

I have December 2011. AMD Drivers for my video card.

And everything is over the requirements... is there a patch for the game? I have 1.1 patch only

Look here & try compatiblity mode: -

Getting Crysis 64-bit to work on Windows 7 64-bit | Welcome to Andrewblock.net

Also, the recommended spec's suggests the XBox 360 controller, give it a go.

There are several patches for the game download & them, you have nothing to loose.

Thanks lottiemansion ill try out those suggestions and let you know. BTW putting the settings to low helps but I get high framerates on high with the exception of the freezing.

Honestly, yor computer is under powered for crysis.

Infac 90% of computers are under powered. Crysis is the worst game on systems.

Hi patonb, actually if my pc runs at 50fps with the occasional freezing it mist be fine,

And I solved it. It was object detail. I turned it to low ad all of a sudden the freezing stopped.

Everything else is on high @ 1920x1080 and happily runs @ 40-55 fps.

Yha, that would for sure help. But that shows that despite you gettingf 40+ fps, you cant run it with much high details.

as i said, Crysis cause even the greatest systems to bog. Thats why thew joke was alwways., "Thats great n all, but can i run Crysis?"

lol just saw the title and thought.. typical.

from what I've heard crysis 2 is much easier on systems, haven't tried it myself though, as i got crysis 2 on xbox 360. in my opinion crysis 2 was a better game, but thats just an opinion.
oh, and the achievement for watching the opening of the game on 360, is called "can it run crysis?"
so little bit of humor there.
