Hi, newby here,

1. how do I get same results in Vista as with "ctrl-alt-delete" in XP, ie get the windows task manager to delete stabourne progs.

2. operations in vista seem long winded, I click on something & a dozen windows, helps, warnings appear before (or if) I succeed to do what I wanted.

Can I simplify/tweek vista to resemble XP workings?

Hello Nichos, and welcome to Vista Forums.

It's now CTRL + SHIFT + ESCAPE in Vista to open the Task Manager.

Same as in Vista, ctrl-alt-delete gives you a list of things you can do. Just select task manager by click on the phrase 'task manager'.

Yup, disable UAC. But it can be dangerous to your computer.

As long as your realize and understand the dangers...

Check the tutorials, and you will see how to disable UAC.

I found it simpler just to right-click on the taskbar and select "task manager".
