This is a dell 755 on 4.00 ram and 32 bit not sure if I can up grade to 7 or 8 does anyone suggest this been done? Thanks Roght now Win Vista Business on it.
My old desktop came with Vista and that only had 2GB RAM. I had a retail version of Windows 7 when it first came out and at first did a dual boot with that and Vista till I knew how Windows 7 would work out.
I still used Vista for awhile but then just used Windows 7 all the time, it worked beautifully even on that 2GB RAM machine.
Oh and the machine was a 32bit machine and my copy of Windows 7 was the 32bit version.
There are only drivers for XP and Vista however I have been able to use some Vista drivers on 7 (I haven't tried a Dell product though). Please note that if you try Vista drivers on 7 there could be incompatibility or even stability issues. Due to the OS differences I do not recommend that you try Vista drivers on 8. It would be best to stick with the OS that the PC has been designed for.
