I'm using a compatible battery on dell vostro 840 (Vista Home basic). It works fine with adapter. but when battery got fully charged and I removed the adapter, then after 10-15 minutes, laptop got locked with black screen and then then shutdown in 1 minute.
When I restart it again on batter, then it works fine till battery end
The problem occurs only for first time I run it on batter but work fine after starting 2nd time on battery.
Everytime, I works on batter, I wait for it to locked & shutdow for 1st time and then I start again for 2nd time and it works fine for next 2 hours.
What Can I do except changing my battery as I do want to buy again a battery and this compatible battery also gives backup upto 2 hours.
