display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered

nothing... It's still hapening. Though i notice It doesn't happen when I'm doing passive things like watching a movie. Only when I'm actively doing things

You previously said it acted up as soon as you booted your computer. I assume from your response that it's not doing that anymore?

sorry for the three week delay, had some personal things at home and I haven't been around my pc to much.

To answer your question: Sometimes it happens right from the start, sometimes it takes 10-15minutes... It seems to differ each time

The file under question is loaded during the boot process.

Did HP give you the installation disk for the 210? If so, I recommend that you run it. It might be on a disk with the system drivers and other software.

I bought the 210 after my first GPU broke, so it came later. But the drivers have been updated countless times since then so what's the use in running the "old" installation disk ?

You should try Furmark. It'll crap out on you if it's gpu hardware type issue.

how oild is the entire pc? It can be you gpu dieing or your power supply.

You have a 300W originally and you card needs 300W min. If your power supply is dieing it won't power consistantly and BSOD

If what Patonb is true about the power requirements, that could explain the problem.

I didn't know you replaced the GPU. However, if a disc came with the 210, running it could install a new copy of the problematic file. You can always update the driver later.

Don't worry about the original disk. It won't help much.

You can also d/l the legacy, old, drivers on the nvidia site.

What "problematic" .sys file? It will install the correct files for the system.

A full uninstall, driversweep should be done to ensure any crap files should be done before new drivers installed

Who claims it's a problem?

That is the file that will typically crash when a BSOD happens related to the display, finding what causes nv...sys to crash is the fun.

It's like saying your cars bad because you ran out of gas...

That's really good by the way.

When you install your drivers did you clean everything?

D/l and run drive sweeper
Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

To do it you uninstall the driver through windows. On reboot you go into safe mode and run driver sweeper.

Cleans out any bad/left over driver files

That looks promissing. I've also found the installation disk so I'll clean my drivers and reinstall them this weekend, and if that doesn't change anything I'll try the original ones from the disk !

So, I've been busy with finals. But they're coming to a close now and I've had time to go over every step again. Unfortunately nothing worked. What's more, after running Driver Sweeper (or updating to the new Nvidia drivers cause they happenend right after each other) it feels like the error is happening constantly and it seems to take longer to recover... It's practically impossible to do anything with the pc and I'm getting to the point were I want to throw it out the window...

So any more Ideas ? I haven't tried installing the original drivers since you thought it wouldn't fix anything, should I do that ?
