It really just recently started doing this and all the info I've found elsewhere pointed to Roxio; which I did have on my computer. But after removal (a very thorough removal at that), I'm still getting the crash. Any advice?
Thanks for your reply, but I do have that enabled. The last few times it happened, though, I've noticed something. I don't think its the selection rectangle, I think it happens when I minimize a window, particularly Firefox 3.0 RC2. Could the minimize/maximize animation have any affect on it?
I would...buuuut, I kind of disabled System Restore. I disabled the min/max animation and haven't had any problems yet, but it's only been about an hour since I did that (I think). I'll give it sometime and see if it happens again. Thanks for all of your help!! :D
Strange that this would be a cause of the problem. You might run a sfc /scannow command to see if it can find and fix any bad system files that may be behind the problem to, then test the minimize/maximize again to see if it will work properly again. This tutorial will show you how to if needed.
I'd rather use that as a last resort. I've replaced a bunch of system files over time and I cannot for the life of me remember what all of those are specifically. It's been about 4 hours now and it hasn't happened again. Maybe I need update some video drivers or something, I don't know. Again though, thanks!
Well, it's happened again. No idea why. I don't, however, think it was the selection rectangle that was causing it initially, but rather the min/maxing of windows. With the animation disabled, it's crashed twice while minimizing iTunes and a regular window (Control Panel). I guess I'll have to do sfc and hope that fixes it.
