Can anyone tell me how I can tell if my Laptop DVD device will burn double-layer DVDs?

From the specs below, it shows that your DVD drive is DVD±RW (±R DL) / DVD-RAM - Fixed.

So, yes it supports burning up to 4X + or - R type dual layer DVDs.
