This problem is preventing me from viewing sites. It says that my internet connections fine, but when I go on(using Chrome) it will say that I cannont visit the site because of error 105, and sometimes 101. I've spent hours trying to figure out the problem, and I'm very sure that it is not my firewall, or internet security. When I use another browser it says a similar thing.

I turend off my firewall, but that didn't work. I tried a clean boot, and it worked, but it didn't work when I turned on my firewall. Should I be trying to turn on my firewall, or is it not very important?

If it does not work with the firewall on, the firewall is the problem.

Yes, but even with firewall off, it doesn't work. I need to do a clean boot first. I just put my computer sleep a couple of minutes ago, and I need to do a clean boot before it wood work. None of the services seem to be causing the problem, so I don't know why the clean boot worked.

My Computer

Turn everything off, even the firewall. Now put a few of the clean boot services back, a few at a time. YOu will find the cause. Probably a combination of the firewall and one of the clean boot services.

I found the service that was the problem! Trend Micro Proxy services. Trend Micro is my internet security program. Would the Proxy service be important?

Dump it, get the free Microsoft Security Essentials, its made for Windows and rarely has problems
Go to the security website and use the uninstall tool to uninstall.
Remember, even if you paid for the service the money is gone. Use a Security Essentisls, be safe, but the money is still gone.
How to uninstall my Trend Micro program using the Trend Micro Diagnostic Toolkit
Before you do anything make a system restore point so you can go back if necessary.

So should I turn on firewall with some settings that are different, or just leave it off? And on the System Configuration, should I switch it back to the normal start-up?

My Computer

I would use Microsoft Security Essentials for protection. Most of the Vista members, as well as me use it for protection.
