Solved Error using IE8 and Ultimate 64

Hi

I am getting a lot of errors where a "search online and close" etc is offered, the error is listed as BEX and there are many different programs causing them, this happens Evey few minutes.

What is the cause and how do I fix it?

thanks

Daniel

Hello daniellouwrens
Your problem may be caused by Add - ons.
Use Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) mode
Click Start - All Programs - Accessories, - System Tools - click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).

If this corrects your issue, you need to isolate the browser add-on that is causing the issue:
1.Click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
2.Click the Programs tab, and then click Manage add-ons.
3.Click an add-on in the Name list, and then click Disable.
4.Repeat step 3 until you identify the add-on that is causing the issue.

Post back to tell us how you go.

Thanks, I have started the process and will report back when it is finished.

It may take a while because I have just exceeded my usage and have been throttled back to dial up speed for 11 days :-(

not so cheers

Daniel

Hi

Okay, that's done, even at crawl speed the error was happening, I turned them off then introduced them one at a time as you suggested and I found that the Skype add-on was the culprit.

No idea why, something to do with the latest version or with 64 Vista, it did not happen before I changed.

Thanks for your help

regards

Daniel
