explorer problem

Hi there,
i'm having a problem in vista explorer. When i open computer, all the icons are shown in the left hand navigation pane, but not in the right hand side where i can open things. I have to scroll through this annoying small preview pane to open folders etc.

Can anyone help please?

Have a look in Organize/Layout to change the way panes are displayed.

Yea, i have done that, and i can get the navigation pane to display, but not the files on the right side of the page.

Hi Grasshoper,

Instead of manually finding the folder you need why not just add them to the favorite links folder on the left? or am I getting this mixed up?

i can still access the links using the side pane, but they are not in the middle, heres a link:

Using Sidney's post, did you turn *off* preview?

same thing, if i turn off preview i can still not see anything in the middle.

That matches what I saw - I can see things in the middle window even if I enable or disable preview.

Have you run SFC /Scannow from a cmd window? See http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/66978-system-files-sfc-command.html for more details.

i ran that and it worked fine.

it found:
windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to repair them.
details in cbs.log

i went to c:\windows\logs\cbs\cbs.log and heaps of writing came up.

That is not running fine, my friend. Copy the cbs.log to your desktop, rename it cbs.txt and attach it here in your next post.
