External Hard Drive woes :[

Hello everyone !
I'm currently in quite a jam and I don't know what to do exactly. I have this Seagate USB external Hard Drive (250 GB). Windows was formatting it then I accidentally pulled the cord out thinking it was me mouse (bloody hell). So I plugged it back in and Windows made the "bagunk" sound that a USB has been connected. However it didn't show up in My Computer so I googled a solution. In Device Manager the Hard Drive comes up fine no exclamation points or anything! However in Disk Management when I click on my drive the bar is black and says unallocated, and also is not initialized. I tried to initialize it but it says "The drive cannot find the sector requested"

Nothing seems to be working so can I get some help?

Much appreciated

What happens if you remove and reinsert the USB plug a few times? Does it appear intermittently? You could always see if you can access it from another OS - a live (no-install) version of Linux for example. If you still have no luck, then it could be a fault with the interface circuitry of the enclosure. Alternatively do you have the option to temporarily mount the drive internally and access it that way? If the only option that works is the last one, or if none work and you don't have the option of temporarily mounting the drive internally, then you are looking at a new enclosure.

Okay how familiar are you with DOS and its diskpart command line utility.

Before you proceed,if you have an extra cable, try once with it.

1.Run your DOS program with administrator privilege.

2.Once your dos starts-Type diskpart

3.Rescan

4.List disk

5.Check if your device has been listed or not.

6.If it has been listed select the disk and try to format.
