Firefox no longer works?

Hi everyone. I've been using Firefox 52 on my Vista Viao but today when i tried going online i got a message stating that the connection is not secure. This is new for me and i hope is fixable. Has anyone come across this message before? Thank you very much.

That's strange. I'm using FF right now without problems. Did this happen when you simply launched FF or were you going to a specific webpage?

If you go to Options, Advanced, is it set to use System Proxy Settings?

In my security options, I have all the boxes, except the last one, check marked.

A URL is visible in the attachment, oh guru. Maybe go to google.com (which might be rustedmetal’s homepage?) and search for youtube.com to see if you can duplicate the message. I no longer use Firefox 52, but in years gone by I once or twice saw such messages at specific websites. This may have been only a temporary issue at google’s end.

I saw the URL and had gone directly to YouTube without issue. I had even written that and at the last minute deleted it, instead asking what he was doing when the message occurred.

Oh brother! Sorry for wasting your time guys. The error screen gave me more info today and it said that the computer thinks it was like the year 2009 or something so i changed the date. :frown::picnic:

Incidentally, Firefox 52 and various other old browsers will stop working at YouTube whenever they deprecate their Polymer v1 layout in favor of Polymer v2 and newer (which obviously hasn’t happened yet). The only browser I ever used on vanilla Vista that was supported by YouTube’s Polymer v2 was Yandex 17 (based on Chromium 57). Polymer v2 has existed for some time, and seems to have been carefully designed so that it won’t work with old browsers.

If the computer isn't retaining the time especially after a reboot then it is time to change the CMOS battery.
