Game causing BSOD

If your graphics card driver is up to date, try rolling back and see if that helps. If not, Ill review all the dumps again. A cursory analsyis reveals that my initial assessment was correct.

Hello Rich, Im currently at work and will be working all night, I probably wont be able to touch my computer for a while. I started thinking about this problem more, and Im thinking about throwing the towel and maybe buying windows 7 and doing a clean install instead of spending hours trying to fix this. Do you think this problem could return if I do a clean install.

I also have heard of some great benifits of windows 7. Whats your opinion on this idea. I only use my computer for gaming so I do tend to stress it to releive my stress (married with children and working in law enforcement), and it seems like Im stressing myself more just to play battlefield for ten minutes at a time. Im also hearing that this BSOD could possibly be caused by a cpu overheating, I was thinking about buying a gaming cpu cooler or reaplying some thermal paste. Is my processor out of date? Whats you opinion guys.

Sorry should of stated earlier that I did try older drivers.

You mentioned Seven, that will not solve the problem if it is hardware related. Try these two suggestions.
Test with memtest
Then test out at the upgrade adivsor. This may pick up hardware problems
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=1b544e90-7659-4bd9-9e51-2497c146af15

Memory is often the cause of problems of this nature
Download memtest86 and test RAM
www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html
Run for 8 passes
If passes try a good stick in each slot for 3 passes
If fails do the same for 8 passes.

I did perform these test two weeks ago, since you mentioned memory problems I checked the memory settings in Bios, I discovered the dram voltage was set at the default 1066, I changed the value to the voltage of my memory which was 1333mhz. I managed to play for two hours late last night with no BSOD. I tried this morning and I had an immediate bsod, started it up again and put norton on sleepmode and managed to play for two hours straight. I m gonna keep testing this I hope this was a cure. Is it possible that this bios setting was the culprit? Thank you guys for all your help I greatly appreciate the time and energy you both sacrificed. I will give you guys a heads up if everything comes out good.

Hopefully we can solve this easily.

Go to device manager and update your graphics driver. If that does not resolve the problem take the video card test explained below. If that does not solve the problem follow the suggestions below. If that does not work, post the next BSOD and we shall proceed from there.

The reports that you have submitted reveal clues to the cause of your problem. They do not give a definitive answer. The more reports that we receive the more clues are made available improving our chances of finding a solution to your problem. Each remedy suggested must be performed regardless of placement in this report or other variables. You may have to experience several more BSODs until the final answer is discovered.

If overclocking restore normal settings

SFC /scannow
System Files - SFC Command

Scan with your Anti Virus

Update outdated listed drivers. If I have inadvertently listed any Microsoft Drivers, they can be ignored.

How to Find Drivers
search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone - will help you search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
- The most common drivers are listed on this page: http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.html
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: http://www.carrona.org/drvrdown.html
