Google keeps making it my home page. I can't put an address in my browser. The whole Google page is about gmail.
How can I get my Dell home page back?

Welcome
Download and run a full scan with malwarebytes
Make a full scan with your anti virus.
Based upon the scant information provided, sounds like it could be the google redirect virus.
If you try to use the Google page are you taken to the site that you want?

I agree. Google doesn't do that. Some programs (especially google related ones) might offer to make google your home page upon installation however they don't automatically do so. Also google doesn't keep you on it's site. This is probably virus related.

It might just be some garbage sitting in your browsers....you can remove that using the following if you like:

adwcleaner.jpg
AdwCleaner

  • Close all open programs and internet browsers.
  • Double click on adwcleaner.exe to run the tool.
  • Click on Delete.
  • Confirm each time with Ok.
  • You will be prompted to restart your computer. A text file will open after the restart.
  • You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt as well.

My Computer

Thanks for letting us know. I would go ahead and run a Quick scan with Malwarebytes (no real need for a Full Scan) as well as following the instructions I provided for AdwCleaner.

My Computer

May I recommend the full scan of Malwarebytes, as previously suggested. If a quick scan misses the problem it will be very difficult to find the problem later on. For the few minutes involved, lets be sure.
You may, also, want to download and use Ccleaner, it is used by most here and does an awesome job of removing the crap that may cause problems while using your operating system

I also agree with the full scan. You want to be thorough when it come to virus scanning.

about loosing my home page to Google

This is cccat thanking everyone that gave me suggestions about Google taking over my home page. Scanning did the trick. I now have my original home page back. Thank you all again.

My Computer

Glad that you got it sorted, guess it was malware after all.
