I am trying to watch videos in HD on Youtube or episodes of on-line shows in "high quality". They are just using Flash Player 10. I understand I don't have a very fast connection (1.5 Mps) but even if I pause the program and let it load, it still stops every 30 seconds or so and I get the "little circle of dots" Is this a graphics issue? Is it something else? Is it my connection speed? I would think if I let it load first I should be able to view in higher quality.

Okay, that's what I thought. So how can I make it better? I don't understand "buffering" as well as I thought I did. If I upgrade my graphics, will it "buffer" faster? It it a connection speed issue?

you should see a red bar going ahead of the actual position on the video, this is how much of the video is downlaoded, simply allow it to download before playing and you will be able to watch hd videos on youtube

This is why I think it may be a graphics issue. I can let it download and it still stops to buffer.

Don't think a graphic card would cause that.

I think is your connection and not your video card... this is why:
Office Workstation: 4 yr old board, 4 to 5 yr old ATI onboard video card (9500 pro IIRC), Xp Pro w/SP3, Outlook On, Point of Sale sotware On, Firefox with 3 or 4 tabs open at the same time, 6 MB broadband... no issues whatsoever streaming videos from Youtube or any other site.
House Desktop: 2 yrs + current specs (see my specs below), Firefox open w/ 1 or 2 tabs open, Fiber Optic 1.5 MB AT&T DSL Broadband... same problem you are having.
Now, if you tell me that I need something better than the EVGA GTX260 that I already have to be able to streamline the videos from youtube... I'd just soon better quit using my computer at home!

I think you guys are right. Thanks for the help. There was something strange going on when I posted this but I can't reproduce it. I let 2 different videos load just now and they work fine. If it happens again I'll worry.
