Halo 2 vista help

I installed Halo 2 and when I click to play the game, I get an error that says: Initialization failed. Either insuffecient resources were found to run the game, or game data is missing or damaged. Reinstalling the game may fix this problem.

Now I tried reinstalling the game and this error still comes up.

DirtRid3r, please post ur PC specifications or better still, edit your signature to include your specifications. That way, u wont have to type it out everywhere, every time.

Coming to your problem, Either you have insufficient RAM, or Insufficient free space on the drive where u installed the game or the drive where windows is installed. Other possibility is that, u might be short on free RAM. Try closing down all running applications like chat programs, n anything else unnecessary [but don't ever do away with your antivirus or your firewall]. If that dosent solve it in terms of freeing resources, u might wanna disable Aero and give it a try. U can also do a quick reboot to free up resources [this dosen't include Disk drive space].

Hope this helps!

i have the same problem i have 1gb mem 256 intel 946 chipset family dural 3ghz processor and i get that same error can i get help?

Hi Mackess,

Your intel 946 chipset is the problem. Get a proper Graphics card to run the game not an internal graphics chip.

Same issue as above, if your graphics adapter starts with "Intel..." you need to get a new one if you wish to game.

Using Intel graphics is like trying to run a car on a motorized toothbrush.

Hey Guys,

Socket is correct, The Intel 945 Express Chip is not designed for Gaming let alone the Areo theme on Vista, You will need to upgrade it ;)

I have Halo 2 and a Saitek p3600 rumble control pad. Everything works except this.
The config buttons work except the triggers. Every time I press them the game turns sideways in adition to shooting. How can I keep the game from turning when I press the triggers? Any help is deeply appreciated.

Hi graysky, welcome, can I ask you to download these drivers for your pad and see if that fixes the issue > ftp://ftp.saitek.com/pub/software/full/Saitek_Range_Pad_SD6_00000038_32_Drivers_pfw.exe if it doesn't fix it then we can have a look into more options for you :-)

Can you take a screenshot of what happens when you press your triggers, I'm not entirely sure what you mean when you say it turns the screen, do you mean it's like moving the analog stick to change direction or is it rotating the screen itself?

It's like when I press one of the triggers the screen turns like if i was looking, or scrolling sideways with the mouse. the right trigger moves the mouse, or screen, to the left, and the left trigger moves the screen to the right. + When I have dual guns I can't move to the right using the left analog knob. Please help.

Have you calibrated the controller in the control panel within windows? The reason it does this is because the triggers are not buttons but separate axes' but for it to interfere with mouse movements is very strange, I'd be looking at control panel controller configurations to try and fix this issue.

Thanks! I gave my sister my Saitek p3600 rumble pad today, because her Saitek p2600 was really giving her problems with her pc. I no longer have my control pad to test, but if there's a solution, I definitely want to know. I can use this info until I buy a pad for me.

Hey graysky, sorry to hear you got rid of your pad, I have to say, for your next pad, you may want to go down the Microsoft route, the xbox 360 controller is fully compatible with all "games for windows" games, no mapping needed, and it will work for halo 2 straight out of the box, it maybe something to look into :-)

I purchased a brand new copy of Halo 2 Vista and it installed perfectly and runs perfectly except for the Product Key doesn't work. I would contact the seller, but there's nothing they can do. They sold me a factory sealed brand new copy of the game. I tried talking with Microsoft support and they sent me here. I'm not going to dare trying an illegal Key generator, that's why I made sure I purchased a brand new copy of Halo 2 Vista.
