Hard disk,help please(now)

Lovely people,hello.i am having this problem with my hard disk,and its really getting me mad:sa::sa:.i have a 250gb hard disk on my system(DELL VOSTRO 1510 LAPTOP).on this very day i put on my laptop and i noticed it had no more free space on it (34gb free).it even wiped off all my documents when i tried scanning it(hard disk).
Now i bought another one (hard disk)250gb,thinking that was all,until yesterday night when i tried working on my system i noticed the same thing had happened with the new hard disk(about 2months old).
I am an I.T technician,and this is making me fell i don't know what i' m doing.please help me someone,solve this issue.

Welcome
If you are losing free space
First run a full and updated anti virus scan
Second download and run a full updated malwarebytes.

I have AVAST 5.0 installed on my system which i run regularly to scan for infections,i also have TuneUp Utilities 2011 installed and running,to help check for disk errors and stuff like that.
I even had to change my operating system from windows vista to wndows7.and besides its a new hard disk(2months old) we are talking about here.(remember the same thing is happening to two different hard disks bot 250gb each).pls help,my head is getting hot.:sa:

First read the article about space usage. If the HD is ok, I think that it is probably shadow copies.
I would run malwarebytes, too.
